I attended the Barefoot workshop last year in Clarksdale, MS after seeing a blurb for it on Multimedia Shooter. I was looking to become more savvy on the tech side of filmmaking to prepare for a big documentary project for a nonprofit supporting girls education in Nepal. The Barefoot workshop left me feeling so much more comfortable with my Sennheiser EW100 E2 wireless mics, my XH-A1, white balance issues, etc..
But I got so much more than that! It was a truly eye-opening experience for me as an artist, journalist and all-around person. Chandler Griffin and his team create this atmosphere of a kindhearted storytelling boot camp that kicks your ass.
Clarksdale is a very special place. Leaving the workshop after 10ish days felt a lot like leaving summer camp when I was a kid. I didn’t want it to end. It was a total kick in the pants. Money well spent!
