Africa to Australia
SBS Online launches interactive documentary Africa to Australia
featuring a collection of first–hand stories from Africans who have
journeyed from their homeland to Australia.

Africa to Australia is a collection of personal and inspiring stories by African immigrants and
refugees living in Australia and their successes and struggles in shaping – and being shaped
by – Australian society. Driven from their homes and families by a variety of causes, many
thousands of Africans have brought their cultures and stories to Australia. The interactive documentary uses a combination of full-screen video, high-resolution
photography and rich design to create an immersive atmosphere that draws the viewer
deeper into the lives of these remarkable people. While a video is playing, other related
videos appear at key moments when these themes are being discussed, offering viewers a
more contextual way to explore the content.
A MATTER OF DECENCY from Bombay Flying Club on Vimeo.
Denmark was the first country to sign the UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees in 1951 and since then this small Scandinavian nation has received and helped many refugees.
Over the past decade, however, the national laws and Aliens Consolidation Act have been changed repeatedly and this has led to international criticism and allegations that the Danish Government is constantly about to break international conventions.
The Danish people are torn between national interests and international human rights.
Nobody knows exactly how many refugees are living underground in Denmark but in fact there are Danish citizens who choose to break the law in order to help them.

A Mystery: Why Can’t We Walk Straight? from NPR on Vimeo.
Try as you might, you can’t walk in a straight line without a visible guide point, like the Sun or a star. You might think you’re walking straight, but as NPR’s Robert Krulwich reports, a map of your route would reveal you are doomed to walk in circles.

Catch a wave in Wyoming
By Rich Addicks, Special to CNN
Jackson, Wyoming (CNN) — A surfboard atop a vehicle, 700 miles from the nearest ocean, is your first clue that the surf’s up in Wyoming.
Along the Snake River, just south of Jackson, Mother Nature provides a unique venue for the surf-obsessed in a region better known for wolves, grizzly bears, bison and the rugged Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks.
Enjoy the show!
