Job -news photographer- The Modesto Bee

The Modesto Bee is seeking a general assignment news photographer to work on call as needed (days and hours will vary). Must be a creative and imaginative photographer who can cover news and feature events. Will be expected to return with photographs that accurately portray the event and at the same time execute assignments as requested. Must possess ability to provide accurate caption information that follows Bee style and procedures. Must be able to work with reporters to achieve a complete and accurate portrayal of stories as well as the ability to communicate with photo and page-layout editors. Photographer must be familiar with up to date digital photography including toning techniques for digital images to ensure proper newspaper reproduction quality. Must possess two years newspaper experience or equivalent professional experience. Must possess a valid California drivers’ license and clean driving record (a DMV printout will be required if interviewed). Pre-employment medical exam and drug screen required. The Bee pays 55 cents per mile.
